19th Annual Reunion Tours and Special Functions

 

Downstream Casino

Arrangement can be made to go to the Downstream Casino in Oklahoma.  There is a van service available on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  This is space available with his other fares.  Departure is 7:25 am and arrives at the Downstream at 10:00 am.  The bus departs the Downstream at 4:30 pm and will arrive at the hotel at 6:45 pm.  The cost is $20.00 per person but each person will receive $20.00 in casino credits when arriving at the Downstream.  Arrangements are made with the tour company individually.  Information can be gotten at the Registration Desk.

 

Jim Stafford Show

Wednesday, August 25th.  We’ll enjoy the 8:00 PM Jim Stafford Show.  This family entertainment review features Jim’s music and wry comedy with some other surprises.  Jim’s been in Branson in his own theater for 20 years.  He had his own TV Variety Show in the 1970’s, and you may remember his hit recording of “Spiders and Snakes”.  $28.00 per person (reg. $40.00 admission).     

 

Dogwood Canyon Tour

Thursday, August 26th.  We’ll visit Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, take the Wildlife Tram Tour, and enjoy a “Chuck Wagon BBQ Dinner”.  Dogwood Canyon is a private park run by the Dogwood Canyon Foundation recently formed by Johnny Morris, the founder of Bass Pro Shops.  The tram tour takes a 6-mile loop that follows a developed trophy trout stream with waterfalls, water crossings, and bridges.  The entertaining narrated trip details history of the park, history of the Ozarks, discusses geology, fishery and wildlife management, and water conservation.  The tram also tours the pasture area where the longhorn cattle and bison roam amid the herd of over 100 Roosevelt Elk.  The tram follows the trail back to the chuck wagon pavilion where you’re treated to a dinner of BBQ brisket, BBQ chicken breast, vegetables, cornbread muffins, and apple cobbler.  We’ll depart the hotel around 4:00 PM. 

$58.00 per person.

 

 Board of Directors Meeting

Friday, August 27th, 2010 the Board of Directors will meet between 8:00 am and 11:00am.

 

Sight & Sound Backstage Tour      

Friday, August 27th, 2:00 PM.  We’ll go to the Sight & Sound Theater for a 1-hour Backstage Tour.  The current stage production of “Noah” features a “domesticated zoo” of live animals (horses, llamas, camels, birds, goats, sheep, burros, etc.) each pair is trained to come down the theater aisles and cross the stage entering the Ark.  However, the show is on a 2-week hiatus in late August, but we still can enjoy a backstage tour.  The newest theater in Branson has a 300 foot, 4 story tall, wrap-around stage.  The massive sets “inside the Ark” include a bevy of more dangerous, animatronics animals, too.  We’ll depart the hotel at 1:30 PM returning around 3:30 PM.

Annual Memorial Service

Friday, August 27th, 2010 our Annual Memorial Service will be conducted to honor our lost Wolfhounds at 4:00 pm.

 

Wolfhound Annual Buffet, Bingo and Auction    

Friday, August 27th, 6:00 PM.  The 27th Infantry Buffet Dinner (casual dress) starts with a cash bar at 5:30 in the Drawbridge Hall at our hotel.  (You may not bring in drinks from the Hospitality Suite for this event.) Dinner will include a choice of 3 entrees, with potatoes and vegetables, and a dessert.  We’ll conduct our fund raiser auction following the meal and play bingo later in the evening.  We may have a Door Prize or two and maybe an additional surprise along the way.  $30.00 per person.

Table Rock Lake Luncheon Cruise

Saturday, August 28th.  We’ll cruise on Table Rock Lake aboard the Branson Belle Showboat.  The Luncheon Cruise & Stage Show features a four-star dining experience and a first class Broadway-style show of singing and dancing.  The Showboat takes about a 3-hour cruise on the lake allowing ample time to go out on deck and enjoy the scenic Ozark landscape.  We’ll depart hotel at 11:00 AM.  $55.00 per person.

 

Wolfhound Annual Banquet          

Saturday, August 28th, 7:00 PM.  The 27th Infantry Banquet begins at 6:30 with a cash bar.  (You may not bring in drinks from the Hospitality Suite for this event.)  The dinner features your choice of Herb Crusted 12 oz. Prime Rib, or Roasted Chicken Breast, plus all the trimmings.  We will be joined by Active Duty Wolfhounds from Schofield Barracks, HI, and by the local VVA Chapter 913 Color Guard.  We have a surprise keynote speaker that you’re sure to enjoy.  $32.00 per person.

 

Sunday Mass

Sunday, August 29th, 8:00 AM.  The 27th Infantry Association Chaplain will be offering a Catholic Mass, celebrated by our Chaplain, Fr. Steve Spisak.  Everyone is invited to this worship service, regardless of religious denomination.
